Welcome to the Fifth Volume of Benchtalk, Benchling’s Quarterly Journal

At the time of this volume’s publishing, we find ourselves at a critical moment in history, both at home and around the world. For this volume of the Benchtalk Journal, we have chosen the theme of Leadership in Life Science because now more than ever, the world is looking to life science to lead us into a brighter future.

In these unprecedented times, we at Benchling return to our mission: to accelerate the pace of life science R&D. Our goal is to enable scientists like you to discover and develop groundbreaking, innovative solutions to pressing problems. We firmly believe that life science has the power to radically transform the world we live in, from our lives as individuals to our shared, human experience.

Leadership in Life Science can mean so many things, from being the CSO of a groundbreaking biopharmaceutical company, to a queer scientist proudly expressing their identity in a field historically dominated by straight, white, cisgender men. We have chosen to share a wide range of stories because we see a wide range of leaders driving the field forward.

At Benchling, we are constantly inspired by the everyday leadership we see among the scientific community, the boldness of leading companies and institutions, and the global impact that the life sciences have on our health and our lives. We are honored to support this work and remain committed to building tools that accelerate it.
