Derek Halliday is Head of Product at Benchling, where he oversees product strategy, bringing Benchling's platform to scientists across R&D disciplines and scientific modalities, helping life sciences companies achieve their vision for a lab of the future.
Derek has spent 20+ years leading product organizations across consumer, enterprise, and deep-tech domains, including security, computer vision, machine learning, and AI. He previously led Benchling's application teams for nearly five years, and before that built Hover from the ground up as its first product manager and executive. He holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Computer Science from Princeton University.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Derek lives in Oakland with his family and can usually be found outside when he's not building software.
