Addgene Integration: Import Plasmids in One Click
One of our main goals at Benchling is making research as streamlined as possible. This means that importing, analyzing, and exporting data should be simple and fast.
We are happy to announce that you can now import sequence and annotation data from Addgene in one click. Try it out!
This has been one of our most requested integrations over the past several months. Scientists around the world rely on Addgene for access to cutting-edge research materials.
To import a plasmid from Addgene, you'll need to:
Click Create at the top right, and select Import Sequences
Select External Databases
Paste in your Addgene URL, and select between the Addgene and depositor sequence.
That's it! Benchling will grab the name, bases, description, and annotations from Addgene, and create a Benchling sequence for you.
In addition to Addgene, we also have database support for NCBI, JBEI, and ENSEMBL. If you have other requests, let us know!
Happy Cloning!
